What Sets This Event Apart
Save time and money while fully grasping your pet's thought process. We'll go over why your pet acts and reacts the way it does. We'll clarify terminology and fix misconceptions. You'll have insight to fix problems and understand why they occur in the first place. You will walk out of this class knowing what you can do better, why some things that you have been trying have not worked, and be ready for your first training class.
What you’ll Learn
Understand The Dog Thought Process
Ever wondered why your pet wags their tail, tilts their head, or barks incessantly? When you know better, you do better! We'll provide you with the knowledge to understand why your pet is doing whatever it is they do. You'll grasp when they're frustrated, stressed, overstimulated, elated, and more.
Canine Science and Psychology
We use modern science and psychology as the foundation of our program. We have used almost every training methodology, philosophy, and modality that is out there. We'll cut through the noise and explain what works, what doesn't, and why.
Our Training Philosophy & Methodology
We believe every dog is trainable, from the greenest puppy to seasoned veterans, and every dog in-between. We frequently work with clients who have already worked with other trainers, and are able to correct any remaining problems.
What Works Best For You
Every dog, owner, and family is different. With our guidance, we'll develop a custom plan that will help you, your family, and your furry friend reach your specific training goals. You drive the program, and decide what you want to work on next. We are here to help you reach your specific training goals.

Meet our hosts
Kris Tait
Owner & Founder
I’m the owner and founder of Canine Moxy. My wife, Alix, is working on completing her PsyD. We just welcomed our first child in April of 2021. He spends all day with me, working with people and their dogs.
I am a disabled Army veteran and former combat medic. I have experienced, firsthand, some of the most extreme medical emergencies imaginable.
I started working with dogs after the war. I utilized my Vocational Rehabilitation benefits from the VA to go to one of the best dog training schools in the country. Since then, I have become a professional dog trainer, behaviorist, instructor, evaluator, and judge. I’ve been working with dogs professionally for over a decade in numerous capacities. For the last several years I also helped manage one of the largest veterinary clinics in Central Texas with over 30 employees on staff. I was the go-to person to handle aggressive and dangerous animals - including exotics. I have helped to safely and gently restrain and muzzle thousands of animals so they could be safely examined and treated without the animal further injuring themselves or anyone else.
I have almost two decades of combined experience in emergency medicine, veterinary assisting, and animal behavior. I became a Pet Tech Instructor because I was already offering some first aid with other services I offered but wanted to expand upon what we already had. I have seen countless pet emergencies and understand how much value there is in being able to take immediate action to save lives or minimize injury. I want to be able to share that gift with all of my clients and their dogs.
Marco Rivera
Instructor & Groomer
I'm currently a dog trainer in training & also the groomer for Canine Moxy. I have a full-time job managing a grocery department, but I spend my free time at Canine Moxy. I love learning which not only helps me but others as well. With the guidance of Kris, I aspire to become a fantastic dog trainer like him.
